Architecting integration platforms that scale

I'm a Senior Manager in Product Development, currently with Deloitte in the UK, where I lead the Events Streaming practice across the Cloud & Engineering team in EMEA. My work sits at the intersection of enterprise architecture and hands-on delivery — designing event-driven platforms, leading digital transformation for public sector and banking clients, and building the integrations that let large organisations run as one unified system.

Over 13+ years I've been a Product Owner and Architect across integration technologies — from classic B2B/EDI and ESB platforms to modern Kafka-based event streaming and API-led microservices — leading distributed onshore/offshore teams through complex, business-critical delivery.

  • 9+ years as a Product Owner & Architect across integration technologies
  • 4+ years focused on product development and application design
  • Proven track record leading and motivating cross-border delivery teams
  • End-to-end ownership of the Software Development Lifecycle

Enterprise Integration

Post-Merger Systems Consolidation Platform

Led a 20+ engineer team consolidating two multinational tech companies' inventory, partner, and customer-management systems onto a single platform after a major corporate merger, retiring duplicate applications and standing up a shared API portal.

BoomiJava SpringMicroservicesRabbitMQ
The business problem

Two multinational tech companies came together through a merger, each running its own inventory, partner-onboarding, and customer-management systems. That meant data silos, duplicate integrations to the same trading partners, and two inconsistent partner experiences — plus the ongoing cost of keeping both stacks alive in parallel.

The solution

I led a 20+ engineer onshore/offshore team through the consolidation. Boomi handled the migration and reconciliation work between the two legacy estates; the new shared-services layer was built as Java Spring microservices communicating asynchronously over RabbitMQ; and a single REST/JSON API portal replaced the two separate partner integration surfaces, deployed on Cloud Foundry. Legacy applications were retired once their functionality was covered by the new platform.

B2B & EDI

Media Studio B2B/EDI Integration Platform

Designed and delivered new B2B and EDI interfaces for a major entertainment & media studio*, handling partner data exchange and managed file transfer for global content and distribution partners.

webMethodsGentran EDITumbleweed MFT
The business problem

The studio needed to exchange content metadata, licensing terms, and distribution data with a global network of distribution and content partners, but had no standardized B2B/EDI channel to do it — partner onboarding was slow, and file exchange was largely manual and error-prone.

The solution

I designed and delivered new B2B/EDI interfaces on webMethods as the integration layer, with Gentran handling EDI transaction translation and Tumbleweed providing secure managed file transfer (MFT) to and from partner networks worldwide — giving the studio one standardized, auditable channel instead of ad-hoc file exchanges per partner.

Global Trading-Partner EAI Support

Provided architecture-level support for a telecom & electronics manufacturer's* global B2B/EAI landscape, including managed-inventory interfaces and EDI exchange with major logistics and retail trading partners across North America.

webMethods ISEDI / VANUNIX
The business problem

The manufacturer depended on high-volume, reliable EDI exchange with major logistics and retail trading partners across North America to keep managed-inventory replenishment running — any outage or data mismatch on that link had a direct, immediate impact on order fulfillment and supply-chain visibility.

The solution

I provided architecture-level support for the manufacturer's global B2B/EAI landscape, working across webMethods Integration Server, EDI/VAN connections, and UNIX-hosted integration infrastructure to keep managed-inventory interfaces resilient and trading-partner exchange running reliably at scale.

Code Vulnerability & Security Scanning using ML/AI

Granted

Scans source code for known vulnerabilities by matching it against a knowledge base of code fragments and automatically executes a fix for the matched issue.

Inventors: Hung Dinh, Reshma Nair, Gaurav Suwal, Vishnu Prabhu Sundarrajan, Farook Shaik, Nilay Mishra, Manikandan Rathinavelu, Muhammed R. Mohiuddin, Tarun Gupta

How it works, in plain English
Fig. 1 from US Patent 11,514,171 — block diagram of the Code Vulnerability Remediation Platform, showing the Code Analyzer, Programming Language Detector, Code Cleaner, Code Wizard, Code Corpus, AI/ML Feedback and Training, and Match Detection components
Fig. 1 — System architecture, from the granted patent
  1. Plugs into a team's CI/CD pipeline — every code commit is picked up automatically, with the language detected and the code cleaned (comments stripped) so it can be parsed reliably.
  2. The cleaned code is converted into an intermediate structural representation, then into a numeric vector.
  3. That vector is compared against a continuously growing "code corpus" of known vulnerable snippets and their fixes, using AI/ML similarity matching (cosine distance).
  4. On a confident match, the system doesn't just flag the issue — it automatically applies the known fix, rebuilds the code, and runs it through staging and production.
  5. If the automatic fix doesn't build cleanly, it's routed to a developer for manual review — and whatever they do next feeds back into the knowledge base, so the system keeps getting smarter.

Extensible Migration & Automation Orchestration Framework

Granted

A pluggable framework of self-contained "modifiers" that automate application modification and migration tasks across multiple applications and computing environments — officially titled "Extensible Upgrade and Modification as a Service."

Patent No.
US 11,900,091 B2

How it works, in plain English
Fig. 1 from US Patent 11,900,091 — block diagram of the Extensible Upgrade and Modification as a Service (XUMaaS) system, showing the Orchestration Service Processor, Modifier Processing Engine, and Automated Action Generator connected to user devices, a modifier database, and web applications over a network
Fig. 1 — System architecture, from the granted patent
  1. At its core is a library of "modifiers" — small, self-contained units (a shell script, a Python script, etc.) that each know how to make one specific type of change, e.g. upgrade Spring, patch a TLS setting, fix a known HTTP error.
  2. A user picks what they need from a simple interface: a code modification, a security-vulnerability remediation, or a platform-service change, and which application(s) to target.
  3. The Modifier Processing Engine works out which stored modifiers actually apply, based on live data pulled from across the target applications and environments.
  4. The Automated Action Generator then builds and triggers a CI/CD pipeline on the fly (e.g. a GitLab CI config) to run the selected modifier(s) — no manual scripting required.
  5. New modifiers can be added to the database at any time, so the platform extends to new upgrade or migration types without being redesigned — hence "extensible."
